Children's Nest Day School - Brandon

Hello, my name is Wendy Thompson and I am the Director of Children’s Nest Day School – Brandon. Though I have been with Children’s Nest since 1999, I have been a Director since 2011.

I married my husband in 1993 and we have a son who is in the United States Army. My son was my greatest influence in pushing me to pursue a career in child care. Wanting to give parents the same assurance I needed when putting my son into child care motivated me to become the best care giver possible. I feel that providing children with a safe, enriching environment is one of the most important parts of my daily routine. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a child’s expression when the accomplish a task for the first time, the hugs and smiles I receive daily, and the knowledge of knowing they are happy.

I am currently in the process of completing my Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Management and continue to take trainings and workshops that help to make me a better Educator and Director.
